Hello all.

It is with a very heavy heart and streams of tears in my eyes that I find myself posting here today.

Quite devastating news has reached me that our good friend and fellow flight sim enthusiast Jon Guymer has passed away.

Affectionately known throughout the flight sim community since the IL-2 1946 days, Jon will be remembered as "Grandpa", or even "plonker" to many of us who spent countless hours in the virtual skies with him, mostly on crazy suicidal bomber missions that had us in fits of laughter, especially when out of nowhere he would scream "I can see a train ...."

Jon had a unique zest for life which we could all learn a lesson from. His loss will impact all those who knew him.

My thoughts right now are with his family, who must be utterly devastated at the news. I would ask that everyone please respect their privacy and refrain from contacting them, so they may grieve for him.

Jon's facebook profile is currently unavailable, and even if it does become active again, please avoid posting anything unless there is an official announcement from the family.

Blue skies Jon. You will not be forgotten among the 334th, for you were one of it's favourite and best.
